The Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline graciously ended the long journey of the Green Arrow. It was confirmed by both the actor and showrunners that his story is ended and his sacrifice is something that will ground the Arrow-verse as a “realistic” TV show about superheroes where stakes are actually real and everyone is in danger.
Many fans were sad that they won’t be able to see Stephen Amell as a hero on the silver screen. However, there are many other opportunities for this talented actor to shine once more and wear a cape in another franchise. Amell definitely has talents and looks as well as an impressive physique to play any other superhero.
The world of comics is very rich and features countless heroes that are eager to get on either TV or cinema screen. Let’s take a look at heroes that Stephen Amell may play in the nearest future!
1. Blink from The Batman

A very interesting character in the DC universe is well known for his original backstory. He was born blind yet has an unprecedented ability to see through eyes of another human being. While he usually uses his power for his own good, Batman recruits him to solve a murder after which Blink becomes a superhero. The upcoming Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson is still in its preproduction stage and we may see Mr. Amell in the list of actors attached to it.
2. Nova from Guardians of the Galaxy

Nova is another tragic hero from the cosmic Marvel universe. He crossed paths with Guardians of the Galaxy before and even fought Galactus. What is really exciting is that James Gunn hinted at a possibility that Nova will appear in the third installment of the franchise. Stephen Amell is a great fit for this character!
3. Roger from Hellboy

Roger is definitely a very weird character. He is a homunculus who has outstanding physical strength and even some magical properties. While the Hellboy series is in danger due to the underperformance of the latest movie, the franchise is still quite popular and has many heroes that fans would love to see on TV or even in cinema. Stephen Amell is very handsome meaning that it is be “illegal” to put him in too much makeup. Roger is definitely a great superhero to play for Mr. Amell.
4. Hercules from DC Comics

Hercules is a hero who appeared in many comics and each author imagined him differently. One of the most famous series is one produced by DC comics. Obviously, Stephen Amell is well acquainted with DC properties after starring as one of the main characters from the extended universe for over 7 years. Hercules is rumored to be a concept that Hollywood executives are tossing around and consider making in the future.
5. Peacemaker from DC Comics

Initially produced by Charlton Comics, this comic series proved its popularity and was acquired by DC Comics. The antihero is a troubled man suffering from multiple mental illnesses including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. He hears voices, believes that his helmet is possessed by souls of people he killed, and uses a wide arsenal of gadgets to bring peace through violence. It is a complex character that can be a new R-rated entry in the DCEU if Hollywood executives are brave enough to make it happen. Stephen Amell will be a great choice for this hero after proving his ability to reprise convincing dramatic beats in Arrow.
6. Nathan from Next Men

Often compared to X-Men, this comic book series is definitely one of underrated gems that has many interesting characters with often twisted personalities and amazing backstories. Nathan is a man with X-ray vision who looks like Cyclops from X-Men. The power itself may not be very impressive on its own. However, the main gimmick of the series is that characters can transfer their abilities to their sexual partners which is an interesting plot device to have in a TV show. The silver screen has seen some gratuitous things from the likes of The Witcher and The Games of Thrones meaning that another show with excessive nudity is nothing special!
