The Batman (directed by Matt Reeves) will presumably be published on October 1, 2021. Its trailer was recently released at DC’s FanDome event. The trailer showed Robert Pattinson as the superhero and Colin Farrell as Penguin.
We also saw a mystery greeting card with a puzzle and 11 symbols on it.

Andrew Lane, a DC enthusiast, was so enthralled by the trailer that he wanted to know what this code meant. As a result, he investigated the repeated symbols, tested numerous variants, and obtained the solution. The greeting card’s response to the dead liar’s question is brief: “He lies still.”
When asked about his process, Andrew explained that he worked with the frequency of English letters and the repetition of symbols throughout the code. He based his theories on the fact that the letter ‘E’ is the most common and the letter ‘L’ is one of the most common consecutive letters.
Even if it isn’t the most complicated code ever written, Andrew deserves credit for solving it promptly.
This raises the question, “Who is this deceased liar?” Could it be Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas, about whom we rarely hear anything negative? This would not be a novel twist, as there have been precedents, such as Telltale’s Batman games. There, Bruce’s father is portrayed as a notorious criminal, far from innocent.
However, based on what we know thus far, that might be anyone.
The upcoming Batman film will take place outside of the central DC continuity. The filming will most likely resume soon. Robert Pattinson has spoken about filming, and he has stated that he does not want to work out, which you can read about in this post.
The Batman will now be released in March 2022.
