Disney+ does not want to leave its users without any content. As the new streaming service is receiving a lot of sideshows related to either Star Wars and MCU, the company definitely wants to diversify its portfolio of IPs presented on the platform and chose a couple of properties that are far from being billion-dollar-making franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We don’t know much about the upcoming series aside from the fact that it will revolve around a boy named Evan who was ousted from the Mighty Ducks team. The show starring Lauren Graham is expected to hit the platform in the near future. So what can we expect from this show?
The Flying V
Obviously, iconic moments from the original movie will be a huge nostalgia bait that will undeniably make the viewing more enjoyable for those who’ve seen the film. Heroes of the film forming a V-shaped formation attacking the enemy and winning the game was the culmination of the movie. We just cannot fathom the world where this concept is not used in the Mighty Ducks franchise.

Bombay Is Back
Fans of the original movie rejoiced when the news that Emilio Estevez is interested in portraying his role of Gordon Bombay appeared in the news cycle. It was a good thing that this amazing actor decided to get back to one of his most iconic roles. What we would love to see is his return to the coaching position and continue supporting his team on the way to their victories. Another interesting twist would be him switching sides after the team removes Evan.

The Return of The Kings
We would all love seeing several of the original team members back on the ice. They are all much older now and won’t be playing but supporting or providing essential coaching sessions to the new generation of players would be just perfect for them. Elden Henson or Kenan Thompson don’t have to return in a big way — just a quick cameo would be great.
Making Them Great
The Mighty Ducks were always underdogs which made it really great for the audience to root for them. Everyone had to deal with personal drama and other issues. However, in the new storyline, the team is a powerhouse of youth hockey. Will we see at least a glimpse of the journey the team experienced in order to get to the top? It would be great but not necessary.

Bringing Back the Hawks
Eternal rivals of the original Mighty Ducks team were Hawks portrayed as hockey superstars that were naturally talented and had the financial backing to be the best. If The Mighty Ducks become this amazing team that crushes the competition, we will have to put the Hawks somewhere and make them relevant. We would love to see them as either a strong contender in the league or a stepping stone for the new Evan’s team.

Having More Outsiders
Having the character of Adam Banks whose amazing talents were put to good use was a great idea for the movie. He was a character who needed to learn friendship and forget about his ego in order to be the best player. Introducing another character with good hockey skills and an interesting character arc would be a good concept to explore in the new TV show.
Romantic Stuff

It would be a good idea to have a strong romantic subplot that would revolve around the adults and a couple of interesting romantic stories starring the main younger actors. The Stranger Things showed that you can make teen romance really interesting and touching. If the showrunners of The Mighty Ducks manage to do the same, it’d be great!
